Even though all of the lawsuits against Ron Barness have finally been dismissed, Barness lost most everything he had (through his business and personally). He is working now to re-build his business so that he’ll once again be able to continue his mission of giving back to community organizations and causes in need.

Barness became a target and ended up having to give up everything he had made for himself over his career, including his good name. Finally, after years of waiting for decisions, Maricopa County Court judges have ruled that Ron Barness is not at fault for any loses that these investors experienced. Barness is working hard to get back into the career in which he is so passionate. Many of the investors who were with him before are still standing by his side, knowing that he is trustworthy.

Ron Barness was accused of a number of commercial real estate investment-related fraud charges a few years ago, but finally charges have been dismissed as Maricopa Country Court judges realized that he did nothing wrong in the way he handled the real estate investments.

Barness is working to re-build his tarnished reputation with his new Phoenix property management company.

Retail Property Management, LLC currently manages three shopping centers in the Phoenix metro area, and is owned and run single handedly by Barness.

Now that most of the lawsuits have been dismissed in Maricopa County Superior Court, Barness is focusing on picking up the pieces and re-building the business he was forced to give up. His new company has just one employee: himself. Many of his former investors still trust Barness with their money, believing he was simply a scapegoat for a crashing real estate market and disgruntled investors.

The case, Lyon Financial Services, Inc., a a Minnesota Corporation, d/b/a US Bancorp Manifest Funding Services, Plaintiff vs. Barness Papas Investments, LLC, an Arizona Limited Liability Company, Ron N. Barness and Alexander Papakyriakou, was dismissed in Minnesota District Court by Judge Kyle on May 29, 2009.

Fraud charges against Ron Barness, former principal of Barness Papas Investments and Retail Brokers Inc, were dismissed in Maricopa County Supreme Court. Stories about the accusations appeared in the Phoenix Business Journal but have all been dismissed.

The Daron and Ron Barness Family Foundation donated $1 million to the Children’s Museum of Phoenix in 2006.

Ron Barness has been targeted in a number of civil lawsuits that were originally filed against him as principal and CEO of Barness Papas Investments (the parent company of Retail Brokers, Inc.).

All but one of the investor lawsuits has been successfully dismissed by the Maricopa County Superior Court. The single outstanding investor lawsuit is working its way through the legal system and will likely be dismissed soon. Those lawsuits were filed by a handful of investors who alleged that Ron and his partner did not accurately report earnings and the sales of property.

PHOENIX – (July 15, 2010) – Retail Property Management, LLC, a new property management company for commercial retail spaces has recently opened in Phoenix by former owner of Retail Brokers, Inc. (RBI), Ron Barness.

Retail Property Management, LLC currently manages three shopping centers in the Phoenix metro area, and is owned and run single handedly by Barness.

Barness, former principal of commercial real estate companies, Retail Brokers, Inc. and Barness Papas Investments, was the target in a handful of investor and lender lawsuits that were filed when the Phoenix real estate market took a turn for the worse. All but one of the investor lawsuits have been dismissed in Maricopa County Superior Court; the last remaining investor complaint is anticipated to be dismissed as it finishes working its way through the court system.

The three shopping centers that Barness is currently managing under Retail Property Management, LLC are owned by investors who worked with Barness previously at RBI and who have stood by his side throughout the lawsuits.

“It has been a devastating ride that has taken everything I have made for myself out from under me and my family, but more than 99% of the investors I have worked with over the years have stood by my side, believing that I have done the best I could do,” said Barness.

Barness is currently focusing his efforts for the new company only in Arizona.
